Manchester City is considering a move for Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez while negotiating the departures of Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders.

City opted not to meet a specific cut-off date set by Chelsea last Friday, meaning the £120 million terms previously agreed upon in May are no longer applicable. The club is now deciding whether to pursue a new deal for the Argentina international before the window closes.

Midfield departures and replacements

Manchester City is actively seeking replacements for Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders. Rodri is set to join Barcelona for £65.4 million after the club accepted a third offer for the 30-year-old, who has one year remaining on his contract. Meanwhile, Reijnders is expected to move to Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah for approximately £51 million. City is currently in negotiations with Lille regarding Morocco international Ayyoub Bouaddi. Lille is reportedly seeking £85 million for the midfielder, with Lille head coach Davide Ancelotti confirming that discussions between the two clubs are underway.

Fernandez's status at Chelsea

Enzo Fernandez faced negative reactions from some Chelsea supporters during a 3-1 friendly victory over Real Sociedad on Saturday. The midfielder was previously suspended by Chelsea for two matches late last season following public comments regarding his future while on international duty. Reports of interest from Real Madrid were dismissed by the Spanish club in early July.
