EFL 2026/27 Season Key Dates

The 2026/27 EFL season is due to start on Friday, August 14. However, the season kicks off with the first round of the Carabao Cup on Friday, August 7. The EFL fixtures will be released on Thursday, June 25, at 12pm.

Season Schedule

The final day of the season has not been confirmed by the EFL. The summer transfer window opens on Monday, June 15, and closes on Tuesday, September 1, at 11pm UK time. The winter transfer window opens on Friday, January 1, 2027, and closes on Monday, February 1, 2027, at 11pm UK time.

Cup Competitions

The Carabao Cup starts for EFL clubs on the weekend of August 7-9. The round one of the Vertu Trophy will start during the week commencing Monday, September 21. The FA Cup dates are still to be confirmed, though the third round usually takes place in early January.

Broadcasting

More than 1,000 of the EFL's 1,891 games across the EFL, Carabao Cup, and Vertu Trophy will be broadcast on Sky Sports throughout the 2026/27 season. Every one of the 72 EFL Clubs will be featured live on Sky more than 20 times.
